This whitewater hall of fame will recognize people and paddlers living in or from BC who have made a significant impact or contribution to the sport. A committee will be struck to finalize crietria and evaluated candidates. To make suggestions for criteria, nominate someone, or volunteer, contact Shonnet Allen.
Provisional Criteria:
- Nominees may be from any whitewater discipline or activity, including slalom, wildwater, freestyle, canoe polo, or recreational paddling
- May be a former member of Olympic Team, or
- Long-time member of National Senior A/World Cup Team, or
- Former Olympic or long-time National Team coach, or
- Senior World Championships Gold Medalist, or
- Significant contributions to whitewater paddlesports in BC, as a volunteer, or through a business or other organization
- Must have been a resident of BC throughout majority of accomplishments or contributions as above, or is now a permanent resident of BC
- In general should be someone who has a high level of passion and enthusiasm for whitewater paddlesports, is well known and highly respected in the whitewater community, and who is a good role model for youth.
