CKBC welcomes Kolin Kriitmaa as new Executive Director

Canoe Kayak BC is excited to announce the hiring of our new Executive Director, Kolin Kriitmaa. Passionate about sport and recreation, Kolin has focused his entire career in these areas. 

He joins CKBC after a number of years working in hockey at the national, junior and local levels. He has also worked work with four Olympic games: Vancouver 2010, London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016, and the 2014 Commonwealth Games. 

Among his skills are program and organization building with a strong focus on governance. And his experience as a coach, administrator and executive member give Kolin an unique perspective to drive CKBC's growth as we move into a new decade.

Kolin holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Physical Education, a Masters of Human Kinetics in Sport Management both from the University of British Columbia. He also holds an MBA from Athabasca University and is currently completing his PhD in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.  

Kolin began in his new position this past week working side by side with MJ during her last week as our Executive Director.

Other staffing news

In other staffing news, CKBC welcomes Provincial Coach Blake Dalton back to the office following his paternity leave. Blake will be working Wednesday to Friday and at regattas, camps and other events. You can reach Blake at blake @canoekayakbc.ca
