Four B.C. paddlers taking part in National Canoe Sprint Team Trials #1

Four CKBC athletes are in Montreal this weekend for the National Canoe Sprint Team Trials #1. Taking place at the Olympic Basin, the competition runs May 10-12.

Representing B.C. are:

  • Alex Brent (Burnaby)
  • Ydris Hunter (False Creek)
  • Sam Loutet (Burnaby)
  • Brian Malfesi (Ridge)

This first set of Trials will serve as a selection process for the 2019 Senior World Cup Team, who will be representing Canada in two ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup events on May 23 - 26 in Poznan, Poland and on May 30 - June 2 in Duisburg, Germany. Following these World Cup events, the 2019 Senior World Championship/Olympic Qualification Team will be selected.

Canoe Kayak Canada will be hosting another set of National Team Trials in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia from June 21 - 23. This second competition will determine several Teams including the Pan American Games Team, the U23 World Championships Team, the Junior World Championships Team and the Olympic Hopes Team.
